Frequency Conversions
Frequency is defined as the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit of time, which can be also be intended as the reciprocal of the duration of one cycle.
When referring to sinusoidal waves, given that the wavelength is the distance over which the shape of the wave repeats, there is an inverse relationship between wavelength and frequency of the wave and the frequency f is equal to the phase velocity v of the wave divided by the wavelength λ of the wave according to the formula f = v/λ or λ = v/f.
In the International System of Units frequency is measured in hertz (Hz).
These online unit converters are designed to support fast and accurate conversion among several units of frequency, from one system into another.
